Rogier Telderman Trio

Rogier Telderman is praised for his lyrical and energetic playing, which is both measured and spontaneous. The young pianist composes atmospheric music in which storytelling is central. Recently, he presented the acclaimed debut album Contours with his Rogier Telderman Trio. Together with Guus Bakker on double bass and Tuur Moens on drums, he explores the worlds where these stories unfold. Touching the listener is exactly what Rogier Telderman aims to achieve with his music. He combines the adventure of improvisation with themes influenced by classical music, pop, and jazz. His trio is on the brink of international breakthrough: besides being selected as a Young VIP, a live DVD recording in London and a 10-day tour to Poland are planned this year.

Besides the trio, Rogier Telderman regularly challenges himself as a pianist and composer. With his contemporary ensemble TEMKO, he explores rhythmically layered structures that they translate into “minimal chamber metal.” For November Music 2016, he received a composition commission, which he will realize with an ensemble consisting of flute, bass clarinet, trombone, and (prepared) piano.
